Alkagesta took part in the International Petroleum and Natural Gas Enterprises Conference (IPEC) 2026 in Zhoushan, linking its attendance to the development of its China business and wider fuel trading activities. In a report on its website, the company said Bayram Bayramli, its China Business Developer, represented it at the event at the Zhoushan International Conference Center in Zhejiang Province.

The annual conference draws participants from the oil, gas and bulk commodities sectors, alongside port operators, marine fuel suppliers and trading companies. According to Alkagesta, those attending come from Asia, the Middle East and Europe. The gathering combines senior-level forums and industry presentations with opportunities to connect businesses and sign projects, placing commercial engagement alongside discussion of the petroleum and natural gas industries.

IPEC is organised under the auspices of the Zhejiang Provincial Government and the China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone. Alkagesta described it as the principal promotional venue for Zhoushan’s oil and gas industrial chain. That local focus provides the backdrop to the company’s stated interest in the port’s marine fuel supply activities and its engagement with Chinese counterparties.

Alkagesta pointed to the expansion of Zhoushan’s bonded fuel supply base and its initial steps into biofuel and methanol bunkering. The company said those developments fit with the growth of its Geneva biofuels desk and its chartering function’s involvement in the product tanker market. Its account presented the conference attendance as part of these existing business activities.

The company also said direct contact with Chinese refiners, storage operators and bunker suppliers supports its sourcing of marine fuel cargoes for East Asian ports. It linked those relationships to its positioning in Zhoushan, which it characterised as one of the world’s fastest-growing bunkering markets. The report did not identify any specific cargo purchases, supply agreements or project signings by Alkagesta at the conference.
